Public Art and Civic Pride
On Friday, April 20 from 10-11 a.m., the University of Michigan Detroit Center presents, Public Art and Civic Pride. This event includes complimentary admission and parking to all attendees.
Facilitated and created by artepreneur Suzanne Bilek, Public Art and Civic Pride is a slide show presentation showcasing the artwork of Detroit’s city streets. Through murals, marble monuments and creative tributes; come see historical works of art and the contemporary artists making new contributions to outdoor beautification.
As a native Detroiter with a life-long interest in painting and the creative process, Bilek is enthusiastic about local artists and their contributions to Detroit. She has held several positions in the art industry, including agent, gallery representative, marketing manager and picture framer. She currently works as a curatorial specialist at the Detroit Historical Museum and works directly with their painting collection.
